How the shop works
We take your quality items and display them in the shop to sell on your behalf. For all your items of clothes and books sold, you will receive 40% of the final selling price, which will be set by Apple Tree.
For equipment we will discuss what you would like to receive and Apple Tree will endeavour to realise that for you. Typically, the seller receives the majority of the sold price in these cases.
We will take up to 20 items of clothing per drop and reserve the right to hand back any items that we feel will not sell. The emphasis is always on quality. We accept quality maternity and baby clothes in excellent condition and freshly laundered. Please bring your clothes in ironed and ideally on hangers (which we will return to you) so they can be put on display within days. If clothes require further ironing it may be several weeks before they can be displayed for sale. Apple Tree retains the right to send to charity any items that are found, after acceptance for sale, to be marked/stained.
All baby equipment and accessories must be exceptionally clean and fit for purpose as specified by the manufactures, with all working parts. Batteries must be supplied if required. Books must be clean with no tears or marks. For larger items it is best to ring the shop first to discuss what you would like to bring in as and we can advise you as to the situation. Equipment will be placed in the shop for a period of 3 months after which larger items must be collected. Smaller items will be sent to charity.
For clothing, to ensure the best price and turn over, we operate a seasonal system- so any clothes you bring in must be for that season. Our Spring/Summer clothing season runs from March to July and Autumn/Winter is from September to January.
Please be aware that we operate an appointment system for bringing in items. This is to allow us to monitor the number of items that we receive (particularly clothes) as space is limited. If you are planning to bring in your items to sell please contact us to book a slot.
At the end of each season all clothing will be entered into our half price end-of-season sale for two weeks and then any unsold items not collected will be sent to charity.
All commission is paid in cash – please feel free to pop into the shop at any time to see how you are doing and collect any commission owed to you.
All items are left entirely at the owner’s risk and Apple Tree cannot be held responsible for any items lost or damaged.
